Vandalism on the routes
The complaint by owners of trucks that echoed the Andes-days spent on the continuing attacks on vehicles are certain sections of the routes in the province, forcing the authorities to take in the matter and establish some kind of strategies to end the situation.
At stake are not only material damage to vehicles, but is in serious danger the lives of drivers, because accidents can generate the aggression, with the unfortunate cost of human lives.
According to the complaint, the attacks are recurrent attacks and are realized on the route 40 north on the road to Saint Martin in the South Access in the vicinity of the Mendoza River and also in the south, on route 153 Real live up to the Father.
In most cases, attacks are broken windshield with compelling features, and usually occur at night. If the driver is stopped for any reason, is assaulted by what many, even with the danger that the drive is in good condition, prefer to take the risk and continue their march.
The economic damage, according to the companies, not only are the breaks of the boulders, but they are multiplied by the lack of compliance in the supply of goods on time, because the units must return to headquarters for repair.
This is not a problem only to Mendoza. It is usual to hear similar complaints in other areas of the country, especially in the vicinity of large cities.
Meanwhile, in Chile, was given the “United Automobile Association, which has as main objective to promote an attitude of solidarity with those suffering attacks with stones on the highways. They assert that “when it stopped three or four cars next to it has suffered a broken windshield with a rock, hard dare offenders to commit an assault.”
Mendoza, assaults are up almost daily, but the facts became more visible months ago, when, within days of each other, two people died as a result of the impact of stones at cars traveling on.
At that time, from the official indicated that this had been isolated cases, there are no such dangerous areas and that, although maps have such crimes, would not be released for security reasons.
But also important were the data provided by such insurance companies, where it was established that the critical areas are the South Access to the height of La Gloria, Calle Regalado Olguin, Las Heras, Avenida Libertador, in the neighborhood that borders the La Favorita, pedestrian walkways and shopping close to two miles after the Puente de Hierro, in the Access Corridor East and West in its entirety. This is almost the same locations as those reported by owners of trucks on the sectors suffering the aggression.
They also agreed the timetable on the grounds that, as insurance companies, the attacks occurred between five and seven o’clock at night and in the hours of retail outlets.
It is nothing short of striking, with the knowledge of the areas where crimes occur, the times and to the same methodology, the situation is maintained over time and have not taken steps to cut the root.
The mere presence of a police mobile in the vicinity of those sites, or the movement of vehicle safety, will constitute an obstacle to the intent of the malvivientes that, in most cases aimed at the theft.
In parallel, it would take an awareness campaign to motorists and transporters, to the effect that they become aware of the dangers they will stop in event of such attacks.
This type of crime, and its continuity, and have generated enough anxiety among those who must travel on daily routes, especially those that are considered dangerous, especially when the facts are repeated and the authorities concerned have failed to curb the situation .
